Hi everyone, I pray that the Lord is blessing you through all my writings. It is my heart’s desire to see the Body of Christ living in victory and power. I believe we are living in the beginning of the days of glory, where we will see miracles like never before mentioned, even greater than what happened in the book of Acts. The Holy Spirit is looking for those He can trust and use in these last days. He is looking for men and women who will believe in the gifts of the Spirit.
The power of God is still for today, don’t ever listen to the religious hypocrites, many who are taught by some seminaries that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are dead and that the power of God is no longer for the church today. This demonic teaching going around is not only very dangerous but hysterical, it’s like saying God doesn’t exist or He is limited on what He can do. To the church, this sounds strange, because for us who know the leading of the Holy Spirit, we know that nothing is impossible with God in our lives.
The Gifts of the Spirit Are for Today
The Holy Spirit is looking for believers that are not foolish by putting God in a box and telling Him what He can and cannot do. We, the church, surrender to allow Him to do whatever He wants in and through us. Never have the gifts of the Spirit been so important than today with all the darkness and wickedness going on in this world. I decided to write this article today for those of you who enjoy reading my writings. Today, we are going to talk about the gifts of the Spirit.
In this article, I am going to just explain the gifts a little so you can go back to the Bible and dig deeper to start your own Bible study on the subject. Believe me, it will be awesome once you begin to study deeper. First, we must understand that there are 9 gifts and these gifts belong to God’s children. The world cannot experience them, neither can the religious hypocrites have them. That is why they deny the gifts because they have been cut-off from not only having them but understanding them. Only those who are led by the Spirit of God can know the ways of the Lord (Rom 8:14).
The Three Groups of the Gifts
Let’s look deeper into the Gifts of the Spirit-
Here are the 9 gifts with scripture for you to study:
- Word of Wisdom (1 Cor 12 8)
- Word of Knowledge (1 Cor 12:8)
- Faith (1 Cor 12:9)
- Gifts of Healing (1 Cor 12:9)
- Working of Miracles (1 Cor 12:10)
- Prophecy (1 Cor 12:10)
- Discerning of Spirits (1 Cor 12:10)
- Divers Kinds of Tongues (1 Cor 12:10)
- Interpretation of Tongues (1 Cor 12:10)
The Power Gifts of The Holy Spirit
There are all nine gifts listed with scripture for you to study in your Bible and get to know the gifts by heart. These gifts are for the church today, and we must operate in them for the glory of the Lord. Now, before we get into greater detail, I want to make it a little easier for you when you begin to study the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I am going to put the gifts into three groups so you can see groups of gifts instead of all gifts individually.
Revelation Gifts
- Word of wisdom
- Word of knowledge
- Discerning of spirits
Vocal Gifts
- Prophecy
- Tongues
- Interpretation of tongues
Power Gifts
- Faith
- Healing
- Working of miracles
Now, you have the gifts listed out with scripture and broken down into groups to help you begin to study these gifts on your own. So, as you read the rest of this article, you will be able to see the gifts in a simple way; hopefully, this will make it easier to learn about the gifts of God’s Spirit that belong to each one of us.
The Infilling of the Holy Ghost
I must explain clearly that the gifts of the Spirit can only be received once you are baptized in the Spirit. I will not spend a lot of time on this in the article, but I will try to explain for any new believers or those who have never been baptized with God’s Spirit. Acts 1:8 declares that you will receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon you. This is a glorious event that takes place for anyone that is born again and desires to be filled with the Spirit of God with power.
Once you receive Jesus Christ into your life, the Holy Spirit dwells within you. Even though you may not feel anything or know the Holy Spirit, He is within you. But it is the desire of the Lord that you be baptized with fire and power so that you can be a witness. You are powerless without the baptism of the Spirit of God. Yes, you may be saved because you confess your sins before the Lord, but now you will live powerless without the baptism in your life. You will receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you (Acts 1:8).
Should I desire the Gifts of the Spirit?
Many are asking today not only, “Are the gifts for today?”, but they are asking can we have all the gifts or “What gifts belong to me?”. Today, I am going to show you through God’s word that not only do the gifts belong to you, but we are commanded to desire every gift. That’s right, we are to desire the gifts of the Spirit, and not only desire but desire greatly. Look at these scriptures below:
But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto
you a more excellent way (1 Cor 12:31)
So that ye come behind in no gift, waiting for the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor 1:7)
Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual
gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of
the church (1 Cor 14:12)
So, we see from scripture that we are to desire the gifts of God, and I do believe that all gifts can be given because Paul the Apostle had all the gifts. I will show that to you in part two of this wonderful Bible teaching on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. But, even though we are told to desire the gifts, the Bible does make it clear that the gift of prophecy should be desired greater than all gifts (1 Cor 14:1). Prophecy edifies, exhorts and comforts the church, this seems really important to the Holy Spirit according to scripture (1 Cor 14:3). I am going to finish this article for today, but in part 2 of this teaching, I will continue going through the gifts with you and reveal what God’s word says about the promises of the gifts.
