In today’s world mental issues are at the highest levels ever seen, in my opinion. There is a huge problem going on in the world. I will show you what the Bible says about the mind and how to keep it strong.
Even though I believe a lot of these mental issues are spiritual. I also believe some issues may stem from the chemicals that we eat in our foods and breath in today’s world. It’s so important to keep the mind grounded in the Word of God. This is the foundation for anyone reading to keeping your mind strong.
What Does the Bible Say About the Mind?
If you are struggling with mental issues, you may need someone who is anointed to agree with you in the power of the Holy Ghost. What I am about to write in this article will keep your mind strong in God’s word. Also, the word of God will keep you free from satans’ attack on the mind.
We are told in Romans 12:2 to renew our minds.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
How in the world do we renew our minds? In the natural this may seem impossible however with Jesus Christ nothing is impossible.
With God Nothing Is Impossible
There are three ways the Bible tells us how to keep the mind and renew it.
- Make a decision that you are going to live for God Almighty. By making this decision you are telling the Lord you desire to live according to His word. This is a complete surrender to Him and His ways. Numbers 24: 13 speaks of this surrender.
“I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?”
- Fill your mind with God’s word every day. So many are asking, “what does the Bible say about the mind” and this is exactly what God’s word is telling us. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly Col 3:16.
You must ask yourself; do you want to be free mentally or not. If you do, then fill your mind with God’s word. Let it play at night when you’re sleeping, read it during the day and at the same time fellowship with the Lord. Listen to anointed ministers that teach the Bible and that you relate to, as long as they teach the Bible.
- Don’t open doors in your life to temptation and sin. Be careful what you allow your eyes to see. One wrong look and your mind will go wondering and possibly desiring. Don’t look at that sin that holds you. Listen, I know this is easier to write then to live it. I know the power of bondage, but I must tell you how to start the process.
Take Charge Over Your Mind and Don’t look!
That includes movies, shows, social media content that entertains that sin that holds you captive. Associate with clean, positive content or people. This will start the process of having a free mind. Imagine where your mind will be 3 to 5 years from now? If you, first, make that decision to live for God, second, fill your mind with His word (the Bible), then 3 Don’t look, at sin and bondage.
The Power of the Bible Filled Mind
I live this stuff; I am not just writing to make an article for you. No-one can tell me this isn’t right, or this isn’t in the Bible. I had to live this out for myself, I have seen the power of the Bible in my own mind and life. I went through 18 to 19 years of garbage in my mind and the first choice I made was that I am going to start living for the Lord.
I didn’t know how but I knew I wanted to be free from the mental attacks that I went through. I knew I wanted to be free from the past things that I have witnessed and experienced. Once you make this decision for yourself and realize that there is a beautiful freedom waiting for you in your mind, you will desire an answer.
I believe you are reading this article because you have come to that point in your life where you tried everything, and nothing has worked. You went to counselors to get free, and that didn’t work. You went to self-help programs and that didn’t work. This is your time to be free, it is a supernatural freedom only by the power of the Holy Spirit who is the power behind the Bible.
The Bible Gives Us Power Over the Mind
What the Bible says about the mind is so powerful. Sadly so many ignore the word today. The benefits of filling your mind with God’s word is such a great miracle. But so many go to every avenue trying to fix their mental issues except the word of God. If you mix the Bible with the power of the Holy Spirit, there is no words that can describe the victory and power you will have over your mind.
I am not talking about becoming religious. I am talking about becoming a God lover. Someone who wants to pursue after the Lord and His ways. Someone who wants to walk righteously and desire His closeness. Not just a church goer or someone that calls themselves a Christian but wants nothing to do with His word.
Here are 5 benefits of filling your mind with God’s word.
- Victory over the bondage of sin. Psalm 119: 9, Psalm 119:11
- Revelations that bring excitement Psalm 119: 18
- Comfort and blessings Psalm 119:50
- Great peace Psalm 119:165
- Your heart will be filled with praise and worship Col 3:16
Let The Word of God Bring Peace of Mind
It’s up to you, no-one will do this for you when it comes to renewing your mind. The Bible is so amazing, if only you will only allow the Holy Spirit to open it up and reveal it to your heart and mind today. Today we see so many churches more concerned with having pizza parties and get togethers then having Bible studies and prayer sessions.
The people who attend these churches will be no different then the world, full of bondages and mental issues because the services are empty of God’s word and the power of the Holy Spirit. If you want to be free stay with the Bible and what it says about the mind on how to be free mentally. Find a good Bible teaching church who teaches from Genesis to Revelation and allows the Spirit of God to move freely then you will experience victory in your mind and body.
